Saira Banu's story in her own words: When Saira left the film industry due to work, she wanted to spend time with Dilip Kumar by marrying him.

Saira Banu, who first debuted in Hindi films in 1961 with the film "Junglee", became very popular in the film industry and remained in the film industry for a very long time. First of all, when she appeared with Shammi Kapoor in the film Junglee, her film also received a Filmfare nomination award.

Saira was younger than Dilip Kumar.

Saira told that when Dilip Kumar's film "Aan" was released in 1952, Saira started loving Dilip, while Saira was only 8 years old at that time. After this, when Saira started appearing in films, she wanted to work with Dilip Kumar in films but Dilip sahab refused to work with her, he said that Saira is very young. Saira herself told the media that she was offered the film "Ram Shyam" with Dilip sahab, even then Dilip sahab refused to work with me because I am too young. But in 1966, my mother built a house in front of Dilip Kumar's house.

Played lead roles in many films.

Saira herself told that she signed the film 'Chhoti Bahu' with Rajesh Khanna but due to ill health she had to leave this film, but after two days of shooting of that film, Saira considered Rajesh Khanna a wonderful person.

Film 'Purab Aur Paschim'.

Saira also worked with Manoj Kumar in the film 'Purab Aur Paschim', while Saira admitted in her interview that at that time working in films was a difficult journey, so she herself did not want to do this film. Then she asked permission from Dilip sahab that Dilip sahab "please let me work in 'Purab Aur Paschim'." Because Manoj Kumar had told Saira that if she does not work in the film then the film will not be made.

Why did she leave the film industry.

Even after marriage, Saira got many film offers and she did many films too. Whenever she took permission from Dilip sahab, Dilip Kumar did not stop her and Saira did the film but there came a time when Saira's life became so busy in films that she was not able to take out time to sit and have a cup of tea with Dilip sahab. Going to the shooting as soon as she got up in the morning and being busy the whole day, Saira told that this work was becoming too much for her, so she decided not to work in films. Saira's last film was 'Faisla' released in 1988, after which she retired from films.
