Video Steaming: Do video steaming without internet and SIM card, direct to mobile brandcast technology will be trialled in 19 cities.

Till now, you would have streamed video on your mobile if you have SIM card or internet connection, but now apart from this, you can also stream video on your phone itself, for this there is Direct-to-mobile broadcast. Work is being done on technology.

This is how D2M technology will work.

The technology on which FM radio is broadcast on mobile is a combination of broadband and broadcast. D2M will work like this, first the receiver installed in the phone will catch the radio frequency, then preparations will be made to use the 526-582 megahertz band, although currently this band is used for TV transmitter.

Just as we enjoy TV channels at home without internet, in this way we can watch OTT content on mobile phones at very low cost without spending any data, this technology is like D2H.

Will a lot of content remain free?

A white paper was published on D2M broadcasting and 5G convergence roadmap in the country. In this, broadcasters will be able to provide regional TV, radio, educational content, emergency alert system, disaster related information and video as well as data-driven apps through D2M network. .

 Big challenge for mobile operators.

There is a possibility of opposition from mobile operators due to the arrival of D2M as their data revenues will be affected by D2M.

Regarding D2M, its trial will soon be conducted in 19 cities and for this, 470-582 MHz spectrum will be reserved for which talks are going on with telecom companies in this regard. Apart from this, its impact will also be seen on the 5G network because when 25-30% of the video traffic will be transferred to D2M, then the effect of congestion will be visible on the 5G network.

100 crore smartphone users in the country by 2026.

According to Chandra, D2M technology has proved helpful in reaching about 8-9 crore homes across the country because it was estimated that out of 28 crore homes in the country, only 19 crore had a television set. Currently, there are more than 80 crore users of smartphones. Which will be up to Rs 100 crore by 2026.
