Surrogacy New Rule: New rules for surrogacy have been implemented, know how many days leave can be given, what are the new rules.

The central government has made new rules regarding surrogacy which is good news for all the parents who adopt children and for the mother who gives birth to the child in this way that now the employees of the central government will be able to get 180 days of maternity leave. This information was given by the Department of Personal Training and in this regard, a notification of the revised rules was issued.

Provisions of facility.

By amending this law, along with the surrogate, the presiding mother i.e. the commissioning mother who has less than two living children and is a government employee, will also be able to get 180 days of maternity leave because the central government has amended the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972 and the benefit of the new rules will be given to the central employees.

Provision of leave for father as well.

According to the new rules kept in this law, the commissioning mother who has less than two living children can get child care leave and paternity leave has also been said to be given, in this the father will be entitled to get 15 days leave within six months of the birth of the child.

The government should continuously change the rules.

In a country like India, the government has continuously relaxed the rules of surrogacy. In February 2024, the central government changed its rules and allowed to take donor's egg and sperm for this because earlier in 2023, due to rule 7 in surrogacy, there was a ban on taking egg or sperm from the donor, then the rule was that the couple could use their own egg and sperm, this rule was changed and now the couple wanting a child can take egg and sperm from the donor.

Purpose of change in rule.

In today's time, there are lakhs of couples who are unable to become parents and they can fulfill their wish of becoming parents through surrogacy. Hence, the central government has made better efforts in its rules and has made its process easier in the new rules.
