IPL 2023: Final of 16 Chennai Super Kings, batsmen who scored the most runs in IPL season in 16 editions, from Virat Kohli to Shubman Gill dominated the charts!
Indian Premier League Chennai Super Kings became the first team to qualify for the final of IPL 16 as the Men in Yellow suffered a 15-run defeat to Gujarat Titans, and will now take on Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier today. The batting was crucial for CSK in this two-team game, with four bowlers taking two wickets each.
During the 16th over of the game for both the teams, Pathirana walked off the field for almost 9 minutes and was refused to bowl by the umpires which led to an argument between Dhoni and the on-field umpires.
What are the rules?
Four minutes were left before Pathirana bowled again, whereas he had to spend the same amount of time on the field before bowling as he was dismissed. After Dhoni's argument, the umpires agreed to bowl Pathirana. But
Dhoni was reprimanded for his disrespectful act by former ICC umpire Daryl Harper.
So far in 2016 and 2017 IPL Season 16, Chennai Super Kings missed out on CSK in both. They have made it to the finals 10 times so far, including 2023. IPL four times, and except in 2016 and 2017, at least without Chennai. There have not been two IPL finals in a row once, thus saying that no other team has reached the IPL finals seven times, and some of them have played all 16 editions, starting in 2008 but not until 2020. It happened that Chennai failed to make it to the top four but missed out again in 2022 and won the trophy in the 2021 season and this time again reached the finals.
