Titans become the first team to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2023 as the race is on with five teams in the race for the remaining three spots.
Currently, Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans can finish with 15 more points than CSK, Chennai Super Kings who will play their last game against Delhi Capitals to seal their place in the top four. Must win the match.
Punjab Kings - 12 points from 12 matches, NRR -0.268 Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, Punjab can finish on 16 points, Chennai, Mumbai, Lucknow and Bangalore are all in the race to finish with 16 or more points and Gujarat are already ahead in the race, with LSG having 13 points from 12 matches, including the rain-affected match against CSK, needing to win both their matches to take their tally to 17 points.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, RCB are on 12 points and need to win their last two matches to move ahead as their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad is set to be a do or die contest for both the teams
Rajasthan Royals Talking about last year's finalist Rajasthan Royals, the team got 12 points in 13 matches. Royals' hopes of qualifying for the play-offs are slim. If these teams win against Punjab Kings, they will be placed 14th on the points table and will need other results to go their way.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, the ousted players from IPL 2023, will still have to win the remaining matches and see what other results fall in their favour.
