The record of being the world's highest cricket stadium is already in the name of Chail Cricket Stadium in Himachal, which was built in 1891 by Maharaja Bhupendra Singh of Patiala at an altitude of 7500 feet. After the stadium is built in Spiti of Lahaul, if it gets international fame, then the players coming from outside will come here by helicopter because it is not easy to reach here by road due to the remote area.
A challenge to match in the snow laden hills!
MLA Ravi Thackeray informed that in Himachal Pradesh, snow remains frozen for the first six months in the Sissu hills, in this way it is a big challenge to conduct a match in this place covered with snow, or to land the cricketer in Spiti by helicopter. Provision is being made in the government budget to develop this Lohar Spiti.
